Today I succumbed to the lure of Leyendecker.
This was copied from one of his paintings, with liberties taken in the facial region so that it could be Vic in the fancy tux. A good exercise to work on my painterliness and use some good brush effects. I might do more of these in the future; if I could grasp the beautiful easy way he paints, I think I'd just about die happy.

The internet says White is a common Australian surname. SO BE IT. Say hello to Barry White. VB (He sings opera, not love ballads.)
I meant to do more drawing last night, but I had a brief period of outright panic as somehow my tablet circumvented something or other, and I was left with a keyboard and trackpad that would not function.

Shitsucked.

Anyhow. Did this freeform nifty little thing earlier in the day; trying to think how I could apply this coloring system to GRG, which may soon be finding hosting! Gotta get my ass in gear to prepare.
Rest of the night was mostly gorilla practice and a random baaaw sketch Kait talked me into.

Apparently I missed my tablet.

Did another Gaia stream. In order of drawing:

Only the top one is an OC. Hard to say no to an old goaty guy in a sweatervest.
I just got back from airport escapades, so it is time once more for ~POORLY PHOTOGRAPHED PLANE ART!~ Inkwash edition!

This time I brought along a bottle of ink to draw with(which only exploded within its little baggy on the way TO North Carolina, and not back). There was a third prepared, but I erroneously thought we were landing about a half hour before we actually did, and put up the penciled sketch. I'll chuck it up here later on.

On the way out:

On the way back:

Vic is being bored in what is basically the bar I frequent, and Modern!Bon is calling Vic back in Boston. Lawl RP shenanigans. Boy do I need to dig my scanner out of the garage.

I keep seeing these drawings with simple, pastel or bright colors that make a good drawing really pop into something more. So I've messed around with it last night. In order of drawing:

I definitely consider this last one the most successful in terms of color. I think if I get a little more involved with these kinda pieces, or possibly throw some texture into the mix, it'd be something much more... polished, I suppose? Anyhow. Should be seeing more of this later. Also here is the underdrawing of the last one, because I can't decide if maybe I shouldn't have gone more of a charcoal route with it.
It would have benefited from a little more softness, I think.

Another image dump, much sooner this time!

Firstly a little scene from assorted Bon and Vic RP things:

-and then a bunch of Gaia drawings I did in a stream...

..and then a completely random naked lady butt. Been working on my lady curves.
More tomorrow morning I think, and then I'll be spending my weekend in North Carolina, visiting family.

Big ol' image dump, as usually happens when I don't post for a while.

Much drawing of Gaia stuff..

(I tried Sai, it was okay. )

BIGGEST awesome news was that Spike of Templar, Arizona stumbled across my little fanart of Moze here:
-and apparently really really liked it. ; u; This is what happens when she receives any fanart apparently, but damned if I did not feel crazy awesome. So yes. You should all go draw her more fanart. And read Templar, if you're not already, because goddamn that is a good comic.

Oh, and I've been fiddling about with Sculpey again, or there'd be more doodles.
Kait's gotten me interested in ball jointed dolls, but since I am not made of cash and like working with my hands, I've been opting instead to figure out their construction and how the joints all work together. Basically with this project I'm following the scientific principle that you learn the most by fucking up, not by being correct. AND BOY AM I LEARNING A LOT.

More later, and hopefully sooner than the last time. I've been focused on cooking more lately; latkes, risottos, fancy potatoes, zuchinni fry-ups. Definitely the most speedily gratifying of art forms. Nom nom nom.

Oh right I'm supposed to post things here.

Have a two page abominably sappy comic practice. Apparently I can't draw comics unless they are poorly planned and have terrible dialogue.

More shorts to come, hopefully of better quality/story or, GOD FORBID, from one of the things I am SUPPOSED TO BE WORKING ON.
